St. Joseph Church

 

St. Joseph Parish was the second parish founded in Ponta Grossa, on November 4, 1935. It was separated from the Parish of Our Lady of Sant’Ana to make it easier for the faithful to participate in the Holy Sacraments, Masses, and all acts of divine worship, as Ponta Grossa had grown significantly and could no longer accommodate all the faithful in a single parish.

The church was dedicated on May 4, 1941, and to this day remains the only stone church in Ponta Grossa. In the past, the church was administered by American Redemptorist priests; later, it came under the administration of diocesan priests.
