​Former Courthouse Building

​

            It was inaugurated in 1928 to serve as the seat of the Ponta Grossa District Courthouse. The courthouse operated at this location until 1983, when the building became the headquarters of the Campos Gerais Museum of the State University of Ponta Grossa. In 2005, it was closed for restoration, at which time the Campos Gerais Museum moved to the former Banestado building, located on the same street as this structure.

          It stands out in the urban landscape, preserving its original characteristics through its imposing, eclectic-style architecture and its location in the city’s historic district. The building was designated a Cultural Heritage Site of Paraná in 1990.
